Through aerobic activities, the muscles utilize oxygen to burn glucose and fat. When initially starting an aerobic exercise, glycogen is processed into glucose and once glucose is depleted, fat is metabolized as fuel. This proves the point why these form of exercises are effective in losing weight. Aerobics include activities such as dancing, swimming, jogging, cross-country skiing, walking and biking. When embarking in aerobic activities, much oxygen is needed and oxygen is properly utilized as well. Incorporating these activities into your daily health regimen can greatly facilitate in weight loss and stress reduction.</p>
<p>It consequently means less risk for threatening health conditions such as heart diseases, diabetes and obesity. Researches have likewise shown that aerobics decreases apprehension, so the more you do these exercises, the less apprehensive you become. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Drink lots of water, take deep breaths, choose good supplements, eat all your vegetables, eat more protein, eat fewer carbs. With all the healthcare advice out there these days, and much of it contradictory, it makes healthy living seem like a complicated endeavor! In fact, all that advice can make a junk-food diet look attractive in its simplicity. But don&#8217;t panic! Healthy living can be simple.</p>
<p>You know what makes you feel good and what doesn&#8217;t. If drinking plenty of water, taking certain supplements, or eating multiple small meals a day makes you feel better, then you already know more than the experts. Similarly, you probably know which of your &#8220;bad&#8221; habits make you feel ill, like eating too much sugar or spending too much time at your desk. If you are not sure what makes you feel better or worse, keep a diary for seven to twenty-one days. Log your daily food intake, exercise, level of stress, amount of sleep, and anything else that might affect your level of health. Notice what happens when you add or vary any of your habits.</p>
<p>Once you have discovered two or three really great habits that make you feel good, adopt them for the year. To keep things really simple, choose no more than three great habits. If exercise makes you feel good, adopt the habit of exercising a few times a week. If adding fresh fruits or vegetables is good, resolve to add them to your diet on a regular basis, but don&#8217;t break the bank. Do what makes you feel good in moderation, and in a way that will be easy for you to remember. If you want to add vitamins or supplements into your life, help yourself remember by putting the bottles or packets in your car, your purse, your pocket, your lunch, or your top desk drawer. Don&#8217;t kick yourself when you forget to take the supplements, and take them whenever you see the visual reminder of the bottle. Of course, consistency is always great for health, but in the beginning do what you can to make healthy living a rewarding and pleasurable experience rather than another item on your &#8220;To Do&#8221; list!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Beans are nutritious, healthy, versatile, and make great salads. Legumes and beans are an important part of a diabetic diet, especially garbanzo beans or chickpeas as they are sometimes called. Below is a great recipe for a Garbanzo Bean Salad with a great yogurt dressing. This salad is not your usual salad and is a perfect salad to serve your family and friends. You will no doubt have many requests for your recipe. This is a great salad choice for diabetics as well as anyone.</p>
<p>The other recipe is for a Bean and Bacon Salad. This recipe is a salad featuring green beans and bacon. It is also diabetic friendly with its use of boiled eggs, bacon, and healthy olive oil. Both of these salads are sure to spark your interest and your taste buds.</p>
<p>GARBANZO BEAN SALAD<br />2 cups finely shredded carrot<br />1 1/2 cups thinly sliced bell pepper<br />1 1/2 cups chopped plum tomatoes<br />1/4 cup finely chopped red onion<br />2 cans (15 1/2-oz each) cans garbanzo beans, drained<br />12 cups salad greens</p>
<p>In a large bowl, combine carrots, bell pepper, tomatoes, onion, and beans. Pour 1/2 cup of Yogurt Dressing (recipe follows) over carrot mixture and toss gently to coat. To serve place 2 cups of salad greens on a plate. Drizzle greens with 1 tbsp of the following dressing. Top with 1 1/3 cups of the vegetable mixture.</p>
<p>Makes 6 servings</p>
<p>GARBANZO BEAN SALAD DRESSING:<br />1/3 cup chopped fresh cilantro<br />2 tbsp olive oil<br />1 tbsp lemon juice<br />1 1/2 tsp curry powder<br />1/4 tsp salt, optional<br />1/2 tsp bottled minced garlic<br />1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper<br />8-oz plain fat-free yogurt<br />In a small bowl, combine all ingredients using a whisk.</p>
<p>BEAN AND BACON SALAD<br />2 cans (16 oz each) whole green beans, drained<br />1/2 cup chopped onion<br />1/3 cup extra-virgin olive oil<br />1/4 cup vinegar<br />1/4 tsp salt, optional<br />1/4 tsp black pepper<br />4 hard-boiled eggs, chopped<br />1/4 cup light mayonnaise<br />1 tsp prepared mustard<br />2 tsp vinegar<br />dash of salt, optional<br />4 slices bacon, fried crisp and crumbled<br />paprika for garnish</p>
<p>Combine beans, onions, olive oil, 1/4 cup vinegar, 1/4 tsp salt, and pepper. Toss mixture lightly; cover and refrigerate.</p>
<p>Mix eggs, mayonnaise, mustard, 2 tsp vinegar, and dash of salt. Just before serving, drain chilled bean mixture, add the bacon and toss well. Place each serving on a lettuce leaf. top with a spoonful of the egg mixture and sprinkle with paprika for garnish.</p>
<p>Yield: 6 servings<br />Enjoy!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Self esteem is how much confidence we put on our selves and on our skills. There are three kinds of self esteem: low, overly high, and healthy.</p>
<p>Healthy self esteem is what people should aim for because it is the balance in between low and overly high and it is what brings about more productivity and a more fulfilling contentment. As for many things in health, moderateness is the key. As the spice girls say, &#8220;Too much of something is bad enough, too much of nothing is just as tough.&#8221;</p>
<p>Low self esteem is when one feels second-rate to everyone else. They tend to talk down on themselves, and focus on what they think are their weaknesses. People with low self esteem tend to view themselves in a negative light, putting themselves down, and greatly limiting their capacities.</p>
<p>What psychologists know as overly high self esteem may refer to arrogance. It may be an arrogance that may conceal a great number of insecurities in an individual. People with overly high self esteem display over-confidence in their abilities and stress great self-importance. These people tend to regard others as inferior to themselves and put down others to emphasize their superiority. When threatened, they may respond aggressively and are more prone to self-destructive behavior to prove their infallibility. When among others, they may aggrandize and embellish their abilities, self, and experience to place them in a higher social standing than others. Because they believe that they are better than everyone else, they may close themselves off to opportunities of self-growth, which is important in self-improvement.</p>
<p><b><u>Why is building healthy self esteem important?</b></u></p>
<p>It is important because self esteem affects many aspects of our life. For example, it influences the decisions we make, how happy we are, to how we treat others.</p>
<p>People with healthy self esteem are reported to be subjected less to depression and anxiety and are able to be part of healthy relationships with other people. They have confidence in what they can do and are able to do well in life. They can confidently communicate their ideas and they have a more positive outlook in life, allowing them to ride out conflicts and problems better than those with low or overly high self esteem.</p>
<p>Building healthy self esteem presents to us opportunities for self improvement. When we build self esteem, we treat ourselves better, and in turn, treat others with more dignity and respect.</p>

<li>8 oz package bow- or corkscrew-shaped whole wheat pasta</li>

<p><b>Directions</b></p>
<p>
<ol>
<li>Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain well and place in a large bowl.</li>
<li>Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add green onions and garlic and cook 30 seconds.</li>
<li>Crumble in ground beef. Sprinkle with chili powder and salt. Cook, stirring frequently, about 5 minutes, or until beef is no longer pink.</li>
<li>Add tomatoes and their juices, and jalapeño. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to medium; cover and cook 5 minutes.</li>
<li>Pour sauce over pasta.</li>
<li>Sprinkle with cheese and cilantro. Toss to mix.</li>

Please note however that Chihuahuas are quite fragile animals that require special attention and may not be the ideal pet for you if you enjoy a very active lifestyle.</p>
<p>There are several things that you can look out for to ensure that your puppy is healthy. Making sure that your puppy is healthy before you make a purchase is very important. Start by making sure that the teeth of your puppy are straight and clean. Make sure that they do not have an overbite or other teeth and gum deformations as this can lead to complications later in the Chihuahua&#8217;s life. The fur of the puppy should be clean and regular, with no spots or flakes on the skin. You should also check the fur for fleas and parasites which could be an indication of bad health.</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t be fooled by breeders who advertise their puppies as being a certain size. They may use terms such as &#8220;teacup&#8221;, &#8220;miniature&#8221;, &#8220;tiny toy&#8221; or &#8220;pocket size&#8221;. The &#8220;Chihuahua Club of America&#8221; maintains that these names have no basis and they are merely used by breeders to help sell their dogs.</p>
<p>If a puppy seems to be very lethargic (i.e. if they have a slow reaction rate and don&#8217;t respond well to changes in their environment), this could be an indication that your puppy has hydrocephalus. Although we understand that you may want a puppy that is calm and quiet, we recommend that you choose a puppy that seems alert and awake &#8211; this will avoid heartbreak in the future.</p>
<p>You will also need to choose whether you would like a male or female Chihuahua. Males tend to guard their territory more aggressively than females. This could be useful for you if you live in a house, but if you live in an apartment (and especially if there are other dogs around), their barking could become a problem for your neighbors. Whether you choose to adopt a male or female puppy, it is very important that you get your dog neutered. This will limit certain unwanted traits such as agitation during mating season. Some people claim that female Chihuahuas are easier to train than males, but this has never been proven scientifically. It all comes down to personal preference.</p>
<p>It is very important to ask to see both parents when you go and choose your Chihuahua. They will give you a good idea about how your Chihuahua will grow. If they have a bad temperament, or if they appear unhealthy, it is best to find another dealer before it is too late. This will also assure you that both parents are in fact Chihuahuas and that your puppy is not a mixed-breed.</p>

Couples in a relationship need to spend more time thinking and working on what binds them together than what separates them. There has to be a joint effort between the parties involved. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Yoga is one of the six longest surviving classic systems of Hindu philosophy in the world, which originated from ancient India some 5000 years ago. The term yoga comes from the sanskrit word &#8220;yuga&#8221;, which means union. Yoga masters (yogis) believed that the union of all aspects of an individual: body, mind and soul and the reunion of all opposites: mind and body, stillness and movement, masculine and feminine, sun and moon would lead to an inner illumination, the ecstasy of the true knowledge of reality.</p>
<p>Yoga practitioners designed physical and mental exercises to achieve this union. Physical exercises include yoga postures called asanas, which the yogis claimed to have maintained and perfected for millennia. Asanas are performed to purify and strengthen the body and control and focus the mind. It aimed to improve blood circulation and functioning of specific organs in the body. It also served as stable postures for prolonged meditation and often practiced in conjunction with the mental exercises, which include breathing techniques (pranayama) and meditation. Yogic breathing techniques and meditation are powerful tools to quiet, calm and discipline the mind and energize, harmonize and balance the body.</p>
<p>Yoga would not have survived thousands of years had it not been beneficial to its devotees. Medical research has confirmed that yoga is indeed helpful in alleviating problems concerning high blood pressure, pain management, backaches, sleep problems, diabetes, digestive disorders, arthritis, chronic fatigue, asthma, obesity and heart conditions. Hence, it is not unusual to see more and more people adhering to the doctrines of yoga. As the results of Roper Poll stated, that at least 11 million Americans do yoga routines occasionally and 6 million perform it frequently.</p>
<p>With so many people adhering to the yoga system, as can be due to the notions cited above, equal number of people might think that yoga is only for unhealthy, sick and disturbed people suffering form mild to severe and chronic disorder or disease. Or in some extreme cases, yoga might be perceived as something other-worldly and non-practical activity as can be due to the perversions of the media and entertainment industry labeling yoga with some negative remarks. Contrary to most misconceptions, people of all ages could perform the yogic exercises, though cautions should be kept in mind. And of course, yoga doesn&#8217;t need any serious preparations. All that is needed is a vacant space with flat floor surface large enough to stretch out on, a mat or towel, enough overhead space to fully raise the arms and loose and appropriate clothing. Yoga should be done with an empty stomach, preferably three or more hours after meal. And there&#8217;s nothing more important than mental and spiritual readiness.</p>
<p>Yoga is such a powerful exercise, that proper precautions are prerequisites to its use. Hence, noted are the following: people with disabilities severe, acute or chronic health conditions should first consult their medical practitioner and yoga instructor to keep away from any dangers that might arise. Although there is no age requirement, certain poses and techniques vary according to the abilities of the practitioner, thus, it is better to consult a qualified yoga trainer for advice.</p>
